How To Make a Plaster Cast of an Animal Track (Illustration)

Tracking is a great skill to have which exercises your Observation and Deduction. Sometimes, though, you might wish to capture an interesting track for you to look at later. Photographs might work, but the 3D aspect is totally lost. The best way to preserve a track is to make a plaster cast of it. This process is simple and inexpensive, and you can keep the preserved track indefinitely. I’ve drawn a short tutorial illustrating this process. I hope you enjoy it! How to Play Kim’s Game by Yourself (Illustration)

Today I decided to try something new here on Scouting Rediscovered. I wanted a better way to present tutorials in an easy and entertaining way. So I decided to try illustrating them!

To try it out, here is a short tutorial on how to play Kim’s game. Since Observation is such an important Scout skill and this game is a great way to improve your observation and memory, I think it’s a great choice to try this out!

I made this by drawing it on a sketch pad, scanning it to my computer, and applying a few image filters. My drawing skills aren’t the best, and I didn’t write the directions very clearly, but I think it works. If you like this tutorial and want to see some more illustrated tutorials on different subjects, please ‘like’ this post and spread it along. Thanks for reading!
